The novel coronavirus has increased the concern of the Chicago Fire Department as new cases have been reported every day as the first reporters are becoming infected with this deadly virus. The Fire Department allotted four ambulances to provide emergency services to the coronavirus patients. However, this resulted in four confirmed cases in the department, which has troubled the whole department.
Engine 42, located at Illinois Street and Dearborn Avenue, is one of the busiest firehouses in Chicago. The Local 2 Union Representatives have reported that the Chicago paramedics and firefighters are not getting proper guidelines and actions from the officials of the department. A spokesman from the Fire Department has ensured that they are taking care of all the safety protocols and instructions provided by department-wide directives. The government has asked the firefighters and paramedics to stay at home and take rest if they feel sick.
