A man murdered and sexually assaulted a student of the University of Illinois at Chicago for ignoring his catcalls and due to her refusal to have any talks with him on early Saturday morning.
Donald Thurman, aged 26, is charged for first-degree murder and aggravated sexual assault, which resulted in the death of 19-year-old Ruth George, who is a student of the University of Illinois, stated Chicago police.
Ruth George, who was a sophomore at the University, studied kinesiology and wanted to become an aspiring physical therapist. George George walked to the university parking garage while her friend walked back to her dorm.
In surveillance footage, University police identified Donald following George into the parking where he catcalled her. On her refusal, he grabbed her around the neck from behind and put her in a chokehold.
Family members found George’s cold body later that morning.
Thurman has confessed to his crime.
