A video was recorded by a woman in which a police officer was seen throwing a man to the ground. The officer has been relieved from his duties until further notice. The video was uploaded on facebook, after which it went viral. Anthony Guglielmi, who is the CPD Chief Communication Officer, said in his statement that the Chicago Office of Police Accountability is handling the use of force investigation into the incident. The police department is cooperating in the investigation. A witness said that he picked the man and slammed him on the ground. The man’s head slammed on the ground hard. The police said that when they approached the 29-year-old man who was drinking at a bus stop, he spat on the officer and threatened him. Police then threw him on the ground. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. He has been released and currently in police custody.
