Cupid Candies, one of the last Chicago family-owned candy makers is all set for Valentine’s Day.
As the sun kisses Good Morning to the people of Chicago, they start to line up at Cupid Candies on the South Side of Chicago on Valentine’s Day. Chicago has witnessed years of change, but one thing has remained constant, that is the love for chocolate. John Stefanos, who is 73-years-old, owns the business.
It was started by his late father Polyhronis Stefanos back in 1936. He said in his statement that every year hundreds of people come. They begin to pour in at 7 AM and keep coming till 7 PM. Cupid Candies is one of the last of the old-line, family-owned candy makers in Chicago like Margie’s Candies that is located on the North Side. February 12th to 14th are the busiest days for these candy shops.
