Police officer assaulted in downtown Col Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A policeman who monitored Colorado Springs ' downtown area early Saturday morning was assaulted by a man shortly after taking another, unrelated suspect into custody.
A physical blockage started at approximately 1:54 a.m. outside one of the downtown nightclubs. Close to N block00. The street of Tejon. Officers assigned to the Response Team of the Downtown Area interfered and began to separate the people involved. For crimes linked to this disturbance, one person was taken into custody.
As the perpetrator was arrested, another violent altercation broke out several feet away. Another cop was already in custody with the suspect while the other officers were intervening in the second physical disorder.
At a certain time, according to the police report, a suspect identified as 21-year-old Cutter Halloway "ambushed" the officer and tackled him forcefully to the ground. The assault had already taken off the suspect's officer in custody and on his side. Then Halloway started to punch the officer in the face.
Throughout the path of Halloway, the officer used Oleoresin Capsicum spray to buy time to help the other officers. A taser was used by the other officers to subdue the suspect. The assaulted officer was taken for non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.
That's uncertain why Halloway attacked the officer because, police say, there doesn't seem to be a connection between the first arrester and Halloway.

CHICAGO (WLS)—A Chicago priest convicted of sexually abusing a minor more than 20 years ago will be released on Sunday.
Father William McFarlane served at the Nativity of Our Lord and the parish of St. Gabriel in Bridgeport. In a letter to the parishioners, Cardinal Blase Cupich wrote that both civil and archdiocesan officials had investigated the allegations and found them unfounded.
"As Father McFarlane takes on a new assignment, which we predict will soon be announced, I ask you to keep him in your prayers, aware of the many ways in which he has contributed to the lives of those he has served," Cupich said.
You can see the letter sent by Cardinal Cupich below.
Dear Parishioners of the Nativity of Our Lord and of the Parish of St. Gabriel,
In July, I informed you of the charges of sexual abuse against your former pastor, Father William McFarlane. In accordance with our protocols, he was asked to step away from effective ministry until a thorough investigation and review could be concluded. During those inquiries, he cooperated fully with the civil authorities and the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Following a finding by State officials charged with protecting minors that the allegation was unfounded, the Independent Review Board of the Archdiocese of Chicago examined the matter in accordance with our usual procedures. At its meeting on Saturday, 26 October 2019, the Board found that there was insufficient reason to suspect that Father McFarlane had committed sexual abuse. Therefore, I restore Father McFarlane to active ministry, effective immediately. As Father McFarlane begins a new assignment, which we anticipate will soon be announced, I ask you to keep him in your prayers, aware of the many ways in which he has contributed to the lives of those he has served.
(CNN) The Kardashians are known for their fun Halloween costumes. They were angels, playboy bunnies, and even forest fairies.
But for the Kardashian-West family portrait of this Halloween, things were a bit more frightening. Well, at least for one-year-old Chicago.
The family of six were dressed like the Flintstones, and Kanye was none other than Dino the Dinosaur.
"This family photo was such a struggle because Chicago was so afraid of Dino!" Kardashian said on Twitter and Instagram.
"We tried to explain to tell her that it was just daddy, but she didn't get the idea yet! But shout out to the photographer for filming her and having our Flinstone family dream come true!"
Although the reality star seemed grateful to the photo editing, not everyone thought the photographer was doing a good job of making the family's "dreams come true." Baby Chicago seemed a little out of place. A part of her foot was missing to be precise.

The area was booming when LaCurtise Smith moved to the Fairlane neighborhood of South Kansas City in 1985. The neighboring Bannister Mall supported large box shops, restaurants and cinemas.
However, most of the area has been declining since the mall's downfall and its demolition in 2009. So much so that it takes a trek to Lee's Summit or Grandview to go shopping or enjoy a sit-down meal at a restaurant with forks and knives.
"You should start packing. That's like heading on an adventure," Fairlane Homes Association president Smith said. "You have to take a bottle of water and all you have to do is go to the store."
The narrative of southern Kansas City's deteriorating communities, businesses and schools is not new. Yet government officials vowed to restart before Cerner Corp. broke ground over the former Bannister Mall site in 2014 on its massive new office complex.
