Veterinarians are considered ‘essential’ and work on the front lines
With the outbreak of coronavirus or COVID-19 around all the corners of the world, animals have been left stranded on the streets, without any food or medical supplies. The role of veterinarians, therefore, has become much more important than ever before in these times of pandemic.
As many animals including strays as well as the pets might get injured or even catch some flu, it has become essential that there is some expert service to their rescue. The importance of veterinarians is evident from the fact that their clinics are allowed to be kept open during this lockdown.
Veterinarians not only help in treating the animals but also help in preventing the spread of any diseases as a result of contacting an animal. Therefore, it becomes important that people understand the importance of the services that these vets are providing us. Vet clinics have been taking all the precautions to curb the spread of animal-borne diseases. They are also donating stocks to other medical facilities. Hence, along with the other categories of healthcare experts, vets should also be given due recognition during this emergency period.
