Art Crawl Houston founders still lived i Houston
John Runnels and Charlie Jean Sartwelle, who founded Art Crawl Houston 35 years ago, still live their lives on their terms. Upcoming Art Crawl Houston 2019 requires their attention as they have to tidy the studio, hang the art, get the repairs done, and finish the installation. Runnels, in his statement, said that the artists have their perspective about society. They mostly stand for an excess of freedom, and this is what Mother Dog Studios represents. He said that he is proud that they managed to keep the place all-volunteer, artist-run without any interference of any organization. They have resisted offers to hand over the place to promoters, which may have made it grander and flashier, but then it would have lost its purpose.
