As an addict, your illness goes with you. I continually consider a girl who buys all the shoes, who thinks she has it going on. She never realizes in her mind that she incorporates a downside.”

After getting clean, Lee-Sexton lived a reasonably typical life. She owned a couple of businesses over a 20-year span, including a credit restoration business once she obtained her legal assistant license. She married a person she met through the program, however, they eventually single once he continued to use ineligible substances.

About ten years ago, a decent friend invited her to work out. Then she tried powerlifting which segued into bodybuilding. Now, she’s an expert fitness model and bodybuilder who has collected quite a collection of trophies and titles, as well as state powerlifting records for girls over fifty.

“I always felt there was a different me in me,” she said.

In October, Lee-Sexton will deliver her story in a Ted talk at Lone Star College. She plans on carrying her signature boots.

What she says will be stunning to people, however that transparency is part of the recovery process.

“With my addiction, I would do the precise same thing again because that made me who I'm,” she said. “I was in a church, high-as-a-kite every Sunday…many people don’t recognize that an addict was sitting right next to them. however we all have a right to measure out our story and have our journey. we've a right to recover the way we have to recover.

A POLICE OFFICER DIED IN A CRASH WHILE DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE


A Police officer was driving in the wrong direction on the highway killed due to collision in the big rig while DUI in Sealy, authorities said.


Official believed, relying on tests, that at the moment of the crash Gizelle Solorios, 33, was under alcoholic influence. Investigators have since concluded that this was a key factor.


Authorities said Solorios was traveling towards eastbound on the I-10 westbound lanes when she collided with the 18-wheeler. The accident forced the highway blocked for about 6 hours.


The 2017 Kenworth tractor-trailer owner, Guy Peter, veered off the road to try & miss Solorio's vehicle but failed. Pearson remained at the accident site.

Alice Seabold apologized for the illegal conviction of a man who was found not guilty of raping her in 1981.
