Line Hidalgo orders Harris County residents to wear masks in public.
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo ordered the residents to wear masks at the public for the protection from the transmission of the deadly virus in a news conference on Wednesday. The order will be imposed from next week strictly in the areas of Harris County. Under this new rule, all the residents of 10 and above have to cover their nose and mouth, outside the home.
It will come in effect on Monday and people have to follow the order for the next 30 days. People can use a homemade mask, scarf, bandanna or handkerchief. The health officials have not suggested medical masks or N-95 respirators as the stocks are limited and first respondents and health workers require them more.
