Mom rushed to Houston fire station, baby died
On Sunday morning, a baby died after being rushed to fire station 77, officials investigating. A call was received by Houston fire station at 1:30 a.m. as a baby was on the way to the station. Firefighters saw a woman crying and screaming when they came out. The baby was pale and in terrible shape. Firefighters were followed by the parents to the hospital, where the baby was declared dead. The cause of death is still unknown, and officials are investigating.

Texas Man Missing, Found Alive In Grand Canyon
A man from Texas who went missing two weeks ago was found alive. Currenty, he is udergoing evaluation by medical experts, as per the National Park Service. The park officials have identified the man as a 58-year-old man named as Martin Edward O'Connor. He belongs to La Porte, Texas. Marten disappeared on Dec. 22 before Christmas. An advisory was put out by the officials at that time saying O'Connor might be travelling alone. He was described as physically fit.
Before he was found, O'Connor was last seen on the South Rim, near the Yavapai Lodge, of the Grand Canyon. It was reported by the hikers who saw O'Connor along a trail. Afterwards, he was later found around 10 a.m. local time by park rangers on Thursday.
Downtown Houston: Body found floating in Buffalo Bayou
The death of a person is being investigated by the police who found their body floating in Buffalo Bayou. The body was discovered on Thursday in downtown Houston and was reported at 10 a.m. The report came in after it was found in the waters off Allen’s Landing Park. According to the Police, they have found the body but didnot reveal any further information about it. There was no foul play suspected at the scene, as per the authorities.

The number of wild pigs in and around Texas is tremendously high. These beasts have an endless appetite and they decimate the crops by running across in herds.
A resident from the Oak Crest community, on 30 December 2019, shared a video in which a dozen of the swine can be seen coming out for a 3 a.m. stroll. Further in the video, they can be seen encroaching on neighbourhoods in hunt of food or a potential meal.
A lot of efforts have been put to eliminate them. Even the wild pig hunters have been called to hunt them down. the officials of the state have now approved the use of helicopters as well as hot air balloons so that the hunters can fire upon them from the air.

Marco Aguero is a first baby boy who took birth in 2020 in the Houston area. He took birth at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital, and he was born 20 seconds after midnight.
And the first baby girl who took birth in 2020 is named as Jasmine Sophia Sixtos. She was born at 12:07 a.m. at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
Long term agreement signed between Port of Galveston and Royal Caribbean Cruises
The Port of Galveston signs a long term contract for a new $100 million cruise terminal with Royal Caribbean Cruises.
This terminal is expected to be completed by November 2021, and it will become Allure of the Seas, one of the world’s largest cruise ships.
Rodger Rees, Port Director, and CEO that it is a historic moment for both Galveston and Port. He also included that this partnership will bring economic growth to the region because it will generate new jobs, spending, and tax revenues. He further said that it would attract more tourists, and Galveston is on course to become a global destination for cruising.
The two-story terminal will cover 170,000 square feet on 10 acres, and it will also feature state-of-the-art technology with facial recognition and mobile check-ins.
Port will take responsibility for parking, maintenance, and improvements that will help to accommodate large vessels. The allure of the Seas will be provided with $165 million amplification before sailing into Galveston, and it will include Ultimate Abyss that is the tallest slide at sea that has a 10-story plunge.
The ship will also include multi-story waterslides, restaurants, bars, and an arcade. It is expected that the construction of the terminal will begin in April.

5 hospitalized after Portage Park crash
Among the 10 people involved in the crash that happened on a Saturday night, a child was also found to be injured. The accident occurred in Portage Park on the Northwest Side, stated in the Chicago Fire Department.
According to them, around 8:20 p.m., ambulances were called to North Austin Avenue and West Warwick Avenue for a two-vehicle crash. The department further added that 3 people were taken to Lutheran General Hospital situated in Park Ridge. Two people were found to be a fair-to-serious condition and good-to-fair condition but the hospitalized child was found in serious-to-critical condition. The other two who were taken to the Community First Hospital are in good-to-fair condition while 5 others declined medical attention.

Maywood Fire Chief Craig Bronaugh, Jr. said that multiple calls were received by firefighters about a residence in the 100-block of 9th Avenue. A woman and man discovered unconscious by the firefighters. Officials stated that both people were transported to Loyola University Medical Center. Bronaugh stated that usually everyone gets out in fires. Unfortunately, both of them didn't, and currently, that's part of our investigation.
On the second floor, there was another man who escaped and contacted the authorities. According to Lee Martin, he ran down the back staircase after seeing the flames. Thereafter, he went to the fire department for help. Chief Bronaugh concluded that to put out the flame, firefighters took nearly 45 minutes. The fire was contained to the first floor only.
No other injuries have been reported. The investigation is being done by Illinois State Fire Marshal to find the cause of the fire.

Across the mountains of Southern California, strong and damaging winds are expected from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday. This was reported by the National Weather Service. In the local mountains, the wind may reach as high as 60 to 65 mph. This also includes the higher peaks of the Santa Monica Mountains.
In most areas, high-wind warnings cam on Sunday afternoon or evening and continued to remain in effect Monday 3 a.m. in Santa Barbara County, Tuesday in Orange, San Bernardino County, Riverside, and San Diego county, or Monday afternoon in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
Though red flag warnings may not come increased fire weather conditions are possible. Since the storms, fuel moisture is high, ergo, the warnings are unlikely to come. Most areas witnessed an increase in the Northerly winds, however, a few areas may saw it increase as early as Saturday night.
On Monday morning, it is expected that winds will shift and may take the form of traditional northeasterly Santa Ana winds after they have started to decrease in Santa Barbara County. Winds may reach up to 50 mph in the mountains of Ventura counties & L.A., and 30 - 40 mph in the valleys. Relative humidity may witness a low of 10% to 20%.
