The Houston Police have announced that they have changed the uniform policy, which will now allow the Sikh officers to wear their articles of faith during the mission. The changes had been made in honor of the fallen Indian-American Sikh police officer Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal. According to the reports, Dhaliwal served as a first Sikh deputy at Harris County Sheriff's office for ten years. He was gunned down on duty while he was conducting a mid-day traffic stop. City of Houston tweets that they have adopted a policy to allow officers to wear articles of faith on a mission. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said in a tweet that they are proud of their officers. Deputy Dhaliwal taught the state a precious lesson to include people from every faith, and this change is an honor to him.

A man was found dead outside an apartment complex on City View Place on Friday night in Houston. However, the police are not sure about the cause of death. Police discovered the man's body near 16811 City View Place at around 9:20 p.m. The man was found in severe conditions with various head wounds. Cullen Duncan, a sergeant from Houston police, reported that the man's injuries were also consistent with being dragged or struck by a car. The man was also missing his clothes when found. The airport officials in Houston seized two innocent-looking shampoo bottles. The bottles which looked innocent in the first looks have more than 35 pounds of liquid cocaine-filled inside them. The cocaine is believed to be valued at more than $400,000. The package was seized by the US Customs and Border Protection department. The officials of the department took the bottles from the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas. The officials found out about the bottles after checking the bags of a passenger at the Airport on Monday. The officials informed that the accused is a 26-year old Colombian. The would-be smuggler would be deported back to his native country. The officials from CBP have handed over the cocaine to the Houston police. A spokesperson has informed that the accused man was not arrested or charged. The CBP only presents the cases, and it does not file charges against the criminals. She further added that the duty of recording the charges lies with the law enforcement department or the Justice Department.
