A Pakistani performing artist and actress – Rabica Sahar has disappeared in the United Kingdom after entering the country on an entertainment visa, a local new news outlet reported.
Rabica, a resident of Lahore but originally from Okara, claimed asylum in the UK only five days after her arrival on Sept 8. She cited “slavery” and “human trafficking” as reasons, sources claimed. The actress from Lahore had arrived in the UK along with hundreds of other artists to perform in various entertainment venues across the country for a three-month period. According to the document, the demand for application was made by Rabica Sahar because she felt she was being oppressed as the club manager kept her passport with intimidation. Subsequently, an inspection search was carried out at the location where Rabica was staying. Police did not find anything evidence of her being "raped" or "slaved," however. The study said it later emerged that Rabica's and other artists ' passports had been kept in a safe locker at their demand for safekeeping purposes by the club manager – something other artists objected to. There have also arisen several other inconsistencies in the event. Pictures of the actress on social media showing her eagerness to fly to the UK have appeared and suggest that she is going to perform there out of her own free will. Before her arrival, the actress from Lahore gave Pakistani newspapers interviews saying she was going to perform abroad. Rabica also told an immigration officer during inquiries that another Lahore actress–Ravina, who also traveled to the UK with her, was threatening her. In response to allegations of bullying Rabica, in a statement to a journalist, Ravina's husband said, "Ravina is my mother. She's 21 and she's 35 years of age. How can she pretend to be enslaved by Ravina? Ravina has been accompanied by Rabica, but her assertion of slavery has nothing to do with her. She asked me to arrange her UK visa, which I did." "On September 8, the three girls arrived in the UK and no shows were planned until September 11. The three girls were traveling and sightseeing together during the first three days. Rabica used references and pleaded for UK inclusion in the troupe that I organized, "he added.
