PG&E’s license could be revoked as p Los Angeles
PG&E’s license could be revoked as per the new proposal, California.
Someone new could be appointed by the officials to control Pacific Gas and Electric Co.’s operations. It’s also possible that the officials may reconsider the investor-owned company’s operating license, under a new enforcement process that was proposed by the state’s top utility regulator on Tuesday. The president of California Public Utilities Commission, Marybel Batjer, laid out a set of consequences that PG&E could face if the endangering of the public continues.
The steps described by the president include additional reporting requirements, more significant commission oversight, independent monitor’s appointment, and of the restructuring executive. The commission would be allowed to appoint a receiver for running PG&E and potentially revoke the license. This will allow the company to provide electricity and natural gas to nearly about 16 million people.
