Skeletoniste Tērauda ierindojas trešajā vietā Pasaules kausa posmā Siguldā - Diena

Skeletoniste Endija Tērauda piektdien ierindojās trešajā vietā Pasaules kausa posmā Siguldā. Tērauda uzvarētājai austrietei Janīnai Flokai divu braucienu summā zaudēja 1,40 sekundes, bet otrās vietas ieguvējai nīderlandietei Kimberlijai Bosai - 0,57 sekundes

Pasaules kausa 2020./2021.gada sacensības uzsāka tieši Latvijas skeletoniste, kura ar kļūdām veica trases lejasdaļu, taču no Krievijas sportistei Jeļenai Ņikitinai piederošā trases rekorda (51,85 sekundes) atpalika par mazāk nekā pussekundi, distanci veicot 51,41 sekundē. Piektā startēja Siguldā gana daudz trenējusies austriete Janīna Floka, kura sasniedza jaunu trases rekordu (51,49 sekundes), kā pirmā 18 sportistu konkurencē apsteidzot Tēraudu. Ātrajā trasē Latvijas skeletonisti vēl apsteidza vien nīderlandiete Kimberlija Bosa, kura bija par 0,37 sekundēm ātrāka par Tēraudu, kurai pēc pirmā brauciena bija pārsteidzoši augstā trešā vieta. Titulētās vācietes - Žaklīna Lellinga un Tīna Hermane - ieņēma attiecīgi astoto un desmito vietu ar 1,31 un 1,36 sekunžu atpalicību no Flokas, bet trases eksrekordiste Ņikitina bija tikai divpadsmitā 1,62 sekundes aiz Flokas. "Brauciens bija diezgan labs, kaut arī šis ir labākais ledus šosezon un pie ātruma ir jāpierod," tiešraidē LTV7 kanālā teica sportiste, kamēr treneris Gints Dzērve piebilda, ka skeletonistei vēl ir liela rezerve, jo bija acīmredzamas kļūdas. Otrajā braucienā Latvijas sportiste par vienu sekundes simtdaļu uzlaboja laiku startā, bet finišā sasniedza septīto ātrāko laiku. Viņa tikai par vienu sekundes simtdaļu summā apsteidza ceturtās vietas ieguvēju no Čehijas Annu Fernštedti. Ar otro labāko laiku otrajā braucienā otrā arī sacensību finišā bija Bosa, bet labāko laiku arī otrajā braucienā sasniedza Floka, kura nobrauca trasi 52,36 sekundēs, Latvijas skeletonistei no viņas braucienā atpaliekot par 0,48 sekundēm. Tēraudai šīs bija pirmās sacensības Pasaules kausa ieskaitē. Šogad viņa Siguldā startēja Eiropas čempionātā, bet neuzvilkta starta numura dēļ tika diskvalificēta. "Nav vārdu. Pirmoreiz starts Pasaules kausā, mājas trase, un tik labs rezultāts. Pirms mačiem cerēju uz vietu labāko desmitniekā," šokēta par labo sacensību iznākumu bija Latvijas sportiste. "Šis bija atbrīvotāks brauciens, man patika labāk, bet mums vēl jādomā, kā uzlabot sniegumu trases lejasdaļā," telekanālam LTV7 tiešraidē teica Dzērve. "Savās mājās ir ļoti patīkami uzkāpt uz goda pjedestāla." Labāko sešiniekā neiekļuva ne Hermane, ne Lellinga, ne Ņikitina. Tērauda iepriekšējā sezonā bija vadošā pašmāju skeletoniste, un viņai ir priekšroka izmantot Latvijai piešķirto vienu kvotu, taču nav izslēgts, ka kādā no turpmākajiem Pasaules kausa posmiem startēs Dārta Zunte. Tērauda 2019./2021.gada sezonā uzvarēja divos Eiropas kausa posmos un izcīnīja sesto vietu pasaules junioru čempionātā. Lai gan posms Siguldā nav kupli pārstāvēts, tomēr tajā pārstāvētas gandrīz visas spēcīgākās pērnās sezonas skeletonistes, arī Pasaules kausa ieguvēja Žaklīna Lelinga (Vācija), pasaules čempione Tīna Hermana (Vācija) un Eiropas čempione Jeļena Ņikitina (Krievija). Iztrūkst vienīgi Kanādas un Lielbritānijas pārstāves.
