Teens arrested after DPS-involved shooting in Glendale
In a shooting that involved a trooper, 2 teens have been arrested. The Arizona Department of Public Safety stated that they were tipped off regrading a suspected transaction of gang weapons. Detectives who were undercover contacted the gun sellers using Snapchat. Both of them agreed to meet in a parking lot of the Walmart which is located near 95th Avenue and Camelback Road. They met to buy guns for $1,000 from “Moneyman.”
A gray Jeep SUV pulled up and one of these detectives gave them money. A 16-year-old boy, one of the suspects, pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the detective and asked him to back away. Thereafter, they fled in the Jeep which was confronted by DPS troopers who were about a half-mile away. While trying to catch them, several shots were fired and one of the suspects was hit.
The injured suspect was later found in the yard of a resident. He was then caught and taken to a hospital and last Saturday he was arrested after he was released. A resident later furnished DPS with data in regards to the home attack where the Jeep was taken. That lead DPS to the subsequent suspect, a 16-year-old male. DPS says the two suspects appeared in the video from the Walmart store parking lot. The two suspects have been taken to a juvenile court of burglary and a few counts of aggravated assault.
