Ohio University lays off 140 employees to curb budget constraints
Due to extraordinary and material financial impact as a result of the current coronavirus pandemic situation, Ohio University announced on Friday that they will be laying off 140 employees and were already notified about the same effective from May 31st. The vacancies will remain unfilled. The university said on April 28th that their President M. Duane Nellis shed light on the financial constraints being faced due to the pandemic as "unanticipated reductions in state funding and projected enrollment impacts in the fiscal year 2021, as well as almost $18M in housing and dining refunds." Even before the pandemic set in the University decided to take necessary measures to reduce costs, the sudden pandemic showed a profound impact thus calling in for extra budget reductions.
The University stated that "The majority of the institution’s operational costs are in its employees, which requires the University to make extremely difficult decisions regarding our
workforce, including today’s action. Ohio University recognizes and regrets the difficult impact this will have on our valued employees, their families, and our community at large."
New symptoms found in children with COVID-19 in US
Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C., had recently admitted that several children suffering from COVID-19 are also experiencing the symptoms that resemble "Kawasaki disease," a rare inflammatory syndrome typically affecting children under the age of 5. A representative from Children's National Hospital said on Wednesday that the children experiencing the symptoms of Kawasaki disease had joined the growing number of hospitals in the U.S. and U.K. that have reported similar cases. He added that one child was officially diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease. There are some characteristic symptoms of this disease, such as fever, rash, eye irritation, swollen lymph nodes, and swelling of the hands and feet. The disease has been linked with COVID-19, but the real reason is still a medical mystery. The link between Kawasaki syndrome and COVID-19 is still not well established. The UK Kawasaki Disease Foundation released a statement Wednesday saying: "there is no current evidence of any increased incidence or greater susceptibility to COVID-19 infection for children who had Kawasaki Disease in the past." COVID-19 cases in the U.S. had been mild and infrequent, constituting only 5% of total cases in the nation. The PICS alert, however, sheds light on what could be a newly identified manifestation of the infection in children. The physicians in the U.S. are noticing many similarities with the U.K. report and their cases.

DURING NICE WEATHER THE CITIZENS ARE GATHERED IN PUBLIC PLACES BUT SHELTER AT PLACE ORDER IS STILL IN EFFECT
It is the stay at home order's 7th weekend owing to the corona virus disease outbreak. State and local leaders in the Bay Area agree that shelter at place order is always important to decline the slope, although it's becoming harder to do for others.
To Roxanne Rojas from Oakland, 7 weeks at home was a long period, and she is not alone. Lake Merrit was packed with Sat people sunbathing & doing yoga.
"The reservoir is one of the few areas we will come to since there are parks locked," Rojas told.
The lake felt a lot like before the corona virus situation last weekend, with no emotional distancing happening. That notice by the mayor to send an alert to take a break to the public places like these.
Officers in Oakland were duty-bound to avoid such broad reunions.
Nonetheless, others say trends are shifting.
"There's a lot of noise and men," Oakland-based Lucky Thompson stated.
DUE TO CORONA EFFECT ON ECONOMY THE FAMOUS RESTAURANT OF SAN FRANCISCO IS CLOSING
Businesses & eateries either board for good or fall to do so because of corona virus economic effects. The local restaurant chain named The Grove in SF declared the closing of their place in Hayes-Valley.
The founder told us they have agreed to completely shutter the cafe in Hayes Valley. Bank of the country has refused to request a mortgage we applied for to support for their company going — so it will take weeks to apply again.
Rich Mironov resides in Hayes-Valley, just above The Grove.
"It is very heart breaking to see it, it was a spot in the region," Mironove told.
He doesn't believe that would do anything for those currently trying to relax safety regulations for establishments to be at Fifty percent capacity.
"It's hard enough for establishments to make it with the lease and salaries etc," Mironove said.

The New Teflon Don - The Charges Won't Stick to Joe Biden
An Editorial
*A few weeks ago famed Hollywood actress Tara Reid announced her re-assertion of a 1993 complaint against Senator Joe Biden that charged him with her alledged sexual assault. Recently an archieved episode of "The Larry King Live" program resurfaced, which featured a call from Ms. Reid's mother in which she asked for guidance on how to bring misconduct on the part of a senator to light / justice, despite the event that the police would remain uninvolved.
The said broadcast showed itself to be reasonable proof of Ms. Reid's claims to some (including an initially skeptical Biden supporter, Alyssa Milano) while failing to convince others. There would naturally be those who would support Mr. Biden with a greater commitment as he's deemed to be the only viable presidential candidate for the Democrats' 2020 campaign.
There are two factors that weigh heavily in Mr. Biden's / his camp's favor. The first is the statute of limitations on Ms. Reid's ability to formally press charges against Mr. Biden for the specific acts of sexual misconduct in the 1990s. And the second is an overlooked federal rule that was implemented in 1991.
The policy is the "Employee Rights Act of 1991" and states that the release of any records along certain lines would constitute a "prohibited disclosure". It presumedly was put in place to protect federal employees from retaliation against / intimidation deriving from whistleblowing. However, despite the importance of the documentation on file, its content cannot be displayed even to those that hold a demonstrated and unquestionable interest / the most personal stake.
It is probably the fact that Mr. Biden will never find himself in any proceedings regarding this case.
*CORRECTION: IT IS CONFIRMED THAT THE FORMER SENATE STAFFER AT THE CENTER OF THIS CASE IS TARA READE AS OPPOSED TO TARA REID, THE STAR OF AMERICAN PIE AND SHARKNADO. A SINCERE APOLOGY IS OFFERED TO MS. REID, AND MS. READE, AND TO ANYONE ELSE WHO MAY HAVE BEEN HARMED OR INCONVENIENCED BY THIS INSTANCE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY.
Liberals, Stop Shaming America For Being Free - 'The Outrage Culture' On The Loose While We 'Stay At Home'
An Editorial
We, as the normally freewheeling citizens of this country, are tired of seeing our rights and privileges be curtailed. We're sick of being forcibly shut up indoors, and may actually be sick from it according to leading epidemiologists. We may be more naturally immune to COVID-19 but completely susceptible to anxiety.
State and local governments seem to be taking Draconian measures as a matter of course to suppress the virus (while oppressing people). The governor of one state has declared than no one in it can purchase certain gardening supplies. The major of Elizabeth, New Jersey deployed Chinese-made drones (ironically) to broadcast the ever-nagging message to those on the street to stay six feet apart. In another jurisdiction a woman was arrested for taking her children to the beach.
There have been protests of these things as a matter of course. The public can't help itself. In response to the natural outgrowth of our repression, The Coronavirus Police have clamped down on all we normally do; even the mere and customary verbalizing of our frustrations. Those who decry the devastating effects of questionable practices on our social and economic lives are told that they're negligent and contributors to the death toll.
Too many public figures and private individuals have been booed and hissed for their stance on relaxing virus-based restrictions - even when the opinion given was well qualified by academic knowledge or professional expertise. The Left refuses to tolerate anything that goes against its nanny-state agenda for keeping everything (and everyone) in control.
A prominent leftist and former progressive, Dave Rubin, has just released his word on the subject of Liberal Angst through a book entitled "Don’t Burn this Book: Thinking for Yourself in an Age of Unreason". The graphic attached to the book jacket is a large red-tipped match. The title and the cover art are quite inflammatory (pun intended) and have already caused upset. As expected it has its critics who vehemently oppose everything it says as a matter of "principle".
The writing, which predates this current crisis, chronicles The Party's move from ordinary activism to progressivism to socialism and its reactional, hardline nature. It painstakingly explores the emotionalism involved in their need for social justice and a superior "equality". The author, though a staunch Democrat, takes an objective look at his political associates' choice to strong-arm others into adopting their views on a variety of causes including race, religion and sexuality.

Діти=гроші
