Wine distillery turned into Sanitizer i San Francisco
Wine distillery turned into Sanitizer industry to pay tribute to Medical workers
Today, we need high amounts of hand sanitizers to keep ourselves safe and clean. The markets are running out of stocks because of limited production capacity. Two brother distillers changed the procedure of liquor manufacturing and started the production of hand sanitizer.
In such a time when businesses are getting closed these brothers needed to increase the number of employees and worked 24x7 to manufacture hand sanitizer and distribute it for free among the people of Texas. The name of these brothers is Travis Widmeyer and Chris Widmeyer. These are the owners of Whitmeyer's Distillery.
Travis while pointing towards the storage said "Right now, we've got finished gallon pallets over here. We've got 240 gallons per pallet,".
"This is a way for us to kind of get on the front lines and fight this thing with the rest of Houston," said Chris.
Due to this, they received one of the largest orders in their lives.
They fulfilled the order for free and donated it for the people.
Chris explained that he did all this to pay tribute to medical staff, nurse and to the hospital because 3 years ago when his daughter was suffering from flu the medical staff worked very hard all round the clock to save his daughter's life.
He hopes that this sanitizer will protect the nurses, doctors and other medical staff. "We're really able to help a lot of different people in a lot of different ways and we're just so happy to be able to do it," said Travis.

Cruise ships allowed to dock finally since the beginning of the pandemic
Cruise ships are finally being allowed to dock, and the passengers were carefully sent home to practice self-isolation safely. The ships Zaandam and Rotterdam docked on Friday. Soon after, the 14 critically ill passengers were taken to Florida hospitals. It is not clear if the four passengers that died, two of which were COVID-19 cases, in the Zaandam would be removed from the ship.
The passengers were taken out of the ships systematically with the Floridians removed first followed by the other passengers. They were then transported in buses to the airport to board chartered flights home without going through the terminal.
The last ship that carried passengers to a U.S. port, since the pandemic, will dock on Saturday. The Coral Princess will arrive at the Port Everglades terminal with more than 1,000 passengers that have been isolated in their cabins. The 12 confirmed cases of COVID-19 are also on board.
Broward County Mayor Dale Holness stated on Thursday that the top priority was to protect residents while providing a contained disembarkation option for people on board who need to get safely home.
Zaandam had set sail on March 7, the day before the State Department warned people against cruising during the pandemic and was then denied permission to dock in the South American ports. It had 442 guests and 603 crew aboard while 808 guests and 583 crew were on the Rotterdam. The Rotterdam was sent last week to take in some of the passengers and provide assistance to the Zaandam.

Banks find it challenging to manage PPP applications
The pandemic has taken a turn for the worse as it becomes an economic crisis. The $349 billion Paycheck Protection Program that was set to roll out on Friday met some issues as the banks could not meet the demand.
A comic shop owner from Concord, Joe Field, explained the ordeal he went through while applying for the loan. Field's 'Flying Colors Comics & Other Cool Stuff' has been in business since 1988. However, it had to be shut down because it is not considered an essential business.
He filled out the paperwork as the online portal was as yet ready. He said that there was much information he had to deal with that he was not used to.
After filling it out, he was told that the process would be done online and would not begin until Monday.
Barbara Morrison, CEO of TMC Financing based in Oakland, explained that the banks were not ready for the program as it was announced so quickly.
Although Morrison's firm does not provide PPP loans, her clients have still reached out for help because of the confusing nature of the program. She suggests that working with the bank of your account is the best option.

Weather uproars all the week in Central Texas
The spring had started in Texas and so do a chain of storms and hails.
It's just the second week of April and a series of stormy and severe days had started.
Set up of winds and temperature:
The jet stream above us is supplying a lift to the atmosphere and the strong region of low-pressure shifts from southern California to Texas till the weekend. Which may create chances of severe storms.
The dryline passing through Abilene will initiate heavy thunderstorms during afternoons on Wednesday and Thursday.
This may be the day with most severe storms as the temperature may plunge up to '90s and high temperature means a higher amount of energy for storms. The storm prediction suggests high-speed winds 60 MPH and hail 2'' in size. Most of the counties are on high risk and may get hit by strong storms. Large hail is a huge threat with gusty winds but the probability of tornados is very less.
The weather conditions may remain the same on Thursday afternoon as well. The region of strong storms shifts downwards but Austin is still under a huge threat. The region of high risk had shifted to Caldwell, Bastrop, Lee, and Fayette counties.
The weather conditions may be normal on Friday but the severe weather may return till Saturday with a slight risk of storms over the region of Central Texas.
