As the pandemic continues the struggle of long term care resident continues
According to new survey data, the number of nursing home residents who have failed to resist the pandemic has surpassed 10,000 in the USA. This number contributes to 20% of the total fatalities due to COVID-19 across the nation.
Till now, 10,361 deaths of long-term care residents, however, it might be possible that the actual number is much more than this because these statistics came with the help of official data from the state department of health and governor’s office in 28 states. Other states are yet to report or not responding to the requests of the information.
Leaders at the center for medicare and Medicaid decided that nursing care facilities will be required to report the cases of COVID-19 directly to the health officials there, however, till now, none of the agency has released comprehensive national data on nursing home cases or fatalities during the outbreak.
The series of criticizing the federal government continues as the death count is rising continuously. The general opinion is that the Trump administration rather than giving excuses and blaming the state authorities should focus more attention on long term care facilities where some of the most vulnerable residents are getting caught in the pandemic.
Agency administrator Seema Verma in an interview, told ABC News that she has full faith in the administration, which is taking extreme action against the crisis.

A team returns home after a month of making equipment for the frontlines
Employees at a company were finally able to leave nearly a month after clocking in to make equipment for health care workers. Almost 40 workers decided unanimously to leave their families, and eat, sleep, and live at the facility for the job. They worked 12-hour shifts with minimal outside contact that involved TV and the occasional drive-by from family members.
Operations shift supervisor at Braskem America, Joe Boyce, said that the team was split into two shifts for making polypropylene, a non-woven fiber used to make N95 masks, hospital gowns, and sanitary wipes.
Boyce also admitted that the moment was bittersweet. She said that for the last 28 days, they haven't had to stand six feet from somebody, or put a mask on, as they tried to isolate themselves to make a difference in the battle against COVID-19. The group gets a week off before returning to a typical workweek. Braskem is rewarding these employees with an increase in wages.

OVER SIXTY THOUSAND SAN FRANCISCO CITIZEN APPLIED FOR EMPLOYMENT
Unemployment applications in S.F have risen. Beyond sixty thousand this year and have far exceeded the applications lodged during the Great Depression of 2008 and 2009, Mayor London Breed said on Wed.
While drawing attention to homelessness, Breed highlighted the value of the work being performed by the Corona Economic Recovery Task Force, which she shared with the Board of Supervisors President earlier this month.
"As of April four, Sixty thousand S.F. citizens have applied for unemployment, and we anticipate about forty thousand San Franciscans to apply for unemployment over the next couple of weeks," Breed told reporters media conference.
"Our economy would have gonna face some serious problems," Mayor said.
Among the task force's priorities is to come up with a strategy to "better link laid-off employees with jobs, concentrating on upward mobility opportunities and ensuring the welfare of staff." "Employment is the basis for housing and food protection, health care, and psychological well-being for individuals and society," the task force reported earlier this month.
MAYOR BREED HAS EXTENDED THE STAY AT HOME ORDINANCE FOR THE SAFETY OF CITIZENS
Mayor London Breed announced on Fri, that the stay at home corona virus, order until the April thirty, would be prolonged by another month.
Since March Seventeen, counties in the Bay Area have stayed within stay-at-home order, bringing everyday life, company, and livelihoods to stop as the world fights corona virus. California is in an indefinite shelter-in-place, which Gov. Gavin Newsom confirmed would have no definitive ending.
Breed agreed that concerns linger as to how the shelter-in-place in the Bay Area should be prolonged when residents battle for life and itch for social contact.
As of Friday, San Francisco had 1,341 incidents, including twenty-two fatalities. With Twelve deaths identified as Asian, 3 as black, and 1 as Latino, the majority of deaths are of different races.
Breed cautioned against citizens becoming too impatient this weekend, particularly with the warm, sunny weather forecast.
Only wear a mask isn't enough. Individuals ought to separate themselves from society and take certain measures to protect against the spreading of the lethal virus.
