MESA, AZ -- When no one was injured after a Vehicle rammed into a Mesa train on Saturday afternoon, the accident resulted in road closures.
Early afternoon, as authorities figured out the specifics of what happened, the train blocked several major intersections along Broadway Road. Now these intersections are reopened. FIRST REPORT: Woman speaks about helping SUV drivers entering Mesa's moving train.
Detective Jason Flam with the Mesa Sheriff's department says this has happened near the school of Alma and the roads of Broadway.
"This seems that the car's driver jammed on her brakes to avoid hitting the drop-down handle. As she did so, the vehicle behind her rear-ended her, driving her vehicle into the train," Flam says. According to Flam, no one was hurt and the damage was minimal compared to what they might have been.
The monitoring video captured the moment the train hit the SUV of the woman.
