A physical blockage started at approximately 1:54 a.m. outside one of the downtown nightclubs. Close to N block00. The street of Tejon. Officers assigned to the Response Team of the Downtown Area interfered and began to separate the people involved. For crimes linked to this disturbance, one person was taken into custody.
As the perpetrator was arrested, another violent altercation broke out several feet away. Another cop was already in custody with the suspect while the other officers were intervening in the second physical disorder.
At a certain time, according to the police report, a suspect identified as 21-year-old Cutter Halloway "ambushed" the officer and tackled him forcefully to the ground.
